SimpleFuel Station Grand Opening at Toyota Motomachi Plant

Ivys Energy Solutions, along with our partner PDC Machines, are pleased to announce our second commercial installation of SimpleFuel in Japan.

This SimpleFuel station is located at Toyota’s Motomachi plant - the same plant where the Toyota Mirai fuel cell electric vehicle is assembled. The SimpleFuel appliance at Motomachi, taking advantage of solar panels on site, will provide renewable hydrogen for fuel cell forklifts to support plant operations, and to reduce the carbon footprint of the plant.

The SimpleFuel team are very excited to be a part of Toyota’s environmental sustainability efforts. Read the Toyota press release on this milestone here!

Ivys and SimpleFuel Win $1M DOE H-Prize

Ivys Energy Solutions and its partners McPhy Energy North America and PDC Machines, as the SimpleFuel team, are the winners of the U.S. Department of Energy’s $1 million H2 Refuel H-Prize Competition. The goal of the competition was to develop a safe, affordable, readily deployable hydrogen refueling appliance for fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs).

During the competition, Ivys and partners designed, built and tested the novel SimpleFuel hydrogen refueling appliance, which is a complete 700 bar hydrogen refueling solution in a compact and readily deployable package. The SimpleFuel prototype generated and dispensed over 180 kg of fuel cell quality hydrogen during the three month test period (enough for over 10,000 miles of FCEV travel), and is being used to fuel a Hyundai Tucson FCEV.
